Nightmare has a new single coming out Wednesday September 17th!

It's called 'Lost in Blue' and will be released in three types:  two first press limited edition and one regular edition, each with their own cover art.  The first first press limited edition will include the two tracks Lost in Blue and Kaikou Catharsis as well as a DVD with the Lost in Blue PV for 1,500 yen.  The second first press limited edition will include the same tracks but will include a DVD of the Kaikou Catharsis PV, also for 1,500 yen.  And the regular edition will include just the CD with the two tracks for a cheaper 1,200 yen.

Start the new school year with awesome and new music from Nightmare!

Wow! Kra has so many upcoming releases this time around! They will be releasing a new single titled, "Amaoto wa Shopan no Shirabe", which will be released on October 8, the same day Kra's first PV collection DVD, "Kraction" will come out.  The PV clips extend all the way back to the very first promotional video Kra has ever filmed, to even their upcoming single!  I know I'll be pre-ordering my copies of these, will you?

Lastly, Kra will be releasing their first photobook, "Kera no Kanata", releasing on September 11. That date will be Kra's seventh anniversary, way to go!

We know this isn't exactly jrock, but we want to support our good friends Tainted Reality.  GPKISM will be releasing a new maxi single!  The title is 'Illuminatum' and will include four tracks.  Online pre-sale starts September 3rd and the release will hit stores September 17th.  Make sure to get this quick because it'll be limited to 666 (hehe) copies!

Our friend SUGIZO will be releasing a best-of album on July 23rd!

The title of the album is 'COSMOSCAPE' and will include 15 tracks of rerecorded and remixed songs.  SUGIZO decided to also include liner notes written by himself for the fans to read.  Be sure to catch this album and take the musical journey that he wants everyone to share!

By the way, today is SUGIZO's birthday!

The album will be released on July 16th but before that goes out, about a week prior on the 11th, the band will be starting their A Noble was Born in Chaos tour at Shibuya O-West. Those of you who are lucky enough to go will be able to get a taste of the new album first hand!

If you love vampire stories, you don't want to miss this!  If you can't wait until the 16th, catch the album on iTunes when it releases worldwide on July 9th!

JRR veteran, D'espairsRay will be releasing another single, titled "KAMIKAZE", on August 6. This single has two versions: a limited press edition that will contain a DVD featuring 5 songs that were played in D'espairsRay's set at the ROCKSTAR Taste of Chaos tour from the Long Beach Arena, as well as a randomly selected photocard of the members! The regular press edition does not include a DVD, but contains the live version of 'BRILLIANT' from their previous single, "BRILLIANT", as well as a randomly selected photocard within a set that differs from the limited edition.  Both versions will include the first two tracks, 'KAMIKAZE' and 'Scissors'.

The DVD from the limited press edition contains live footage of these songs: 'TRICKSTeR', 'Garnet', 'SCREEN', 'SIXty∞NINe", and 'Fuyuu shita Risou'. Be sure to preorder your copy before it's sold out!

We mentioned a while back that Kagrra, will be releasing a new single on September 10, but we now bring you updates!

This three-track single, titled "Uzu" will have three songs that will be theme and feature songs! The title song of the single, 'Uzu' will be the theme song to a horror movie titled, "Hitori Kakurenbo", as well as their song, 'Hoozuki' will be the theme song for a drama special (A ghost story).  The last track of the single, 'Shichgatsu Tsuitachi', which was also on their "CORE" album, will be featured in a drama titled, "Cat Street".  This drama is based on a manga, created by Yoko Kamio, noted for her popular manga series, "Hana Yori Dango" or "Boys Over Flowers".

Again, it will release on September 10, with a limited press edition that will contain a DVD, a promotional video of the title song "Uzu".  Their regular press edition will not have the DVD, but will contain a fourth new song that is currently untitled.  Hurry and preorder your copy before it's sold out!

Most people already know about these releases, but here's the information anyway!

alice nine. will be releasing a set of DVDs called 'alice in pictures I' and 'alice in pictures II' which are collections of all their PVs!  'alice in pictures I' contains their PVs chronologically starting from 'Gin no Tsuki Kuroi Hoshi' to 'NUMBER SIX.' and 'alice in pictures II' contains their PVs from 'JEWELS' to 'Eliza -Memoire d'une fleur', plus a new never released PV for their song 'Gekkou Yoku' which was included with their photobook 'alice nine. Photograph collection no.1 "DIVE INTO THE SUN"'!  Both DVDs are available for 5,250 yen and the release date is July 2nd!  Pre-order these if you want to get the special first press jackets!

One month later the band will be releasing their new single 'RAINBOWS' on August 6th!  The single will be released in two limited edition types for 1,890 yen and one regular edition type for 1,260 yen.  Type A includes the two tracks 'RAINBOWS' and 'Strawberry Fuzz' and a 40 page booklet, all packaged together with a special sleeve case.  Type B includes the same two tracks and a DVD with the 'RAINBOWS' PV.  And the regular edition includes the same two tracks plus a bonus track titled 'Kochouran'.   Which type will you guys choose to buy?

This isn't a release, but I thought it would be interesting to share!

As some of you might know, last year on NHK's program 'MUSIC JAPAN', they had a special show featuring visual kei acts!  And they're having another edition this year!

The performing guest artists are:  An Cafe, alice nine., LM.C, the GazettE, D, Nightmare, Plastic Tree, and MUCC!

The show date is July 14th!  Hope you guys have satellite tv or a friend in Japan to record the show for you! 

Ayabie's new single 'Mikajiki no Kiseki' is coming next Wednesday on the 25th (same day as Sadie's album)!  This one's coming at you in three types.  Type A includes the single with two tracks 'Mikajiki no Kiseki' and 'Digital Neverland' and the 'Mikajiki no Kiseki' PV, Type B includes the same two tracks plus the third track 'Hare no Hi', and Type C includes the same first two tracks and the third track 'Hinageshi'.  And get this!  Each type has SIX changeable jackets!  Wow!  I've never seen that for a release before!

You can get Type A for 1,890 yen and Type B and C for 1,575 yen.  I'm sure you hardcore fans will try to get one of each type!

And those of you who will be seeing Ayabie on their U.S. tour might get lucky and hear a song or two from this single!

Next Wednesday on the 25th, Sadie will be releasing their first selection album 'SADIE ~UNDEAD13+2~'!  It includes songs like 'Meisai' and tracks from 'GRUDGE OF SORROW' and 'a holy terrors' for a track list of 13 songs plus 2 never released songs and a promotion DVD with 4 songs!  You can get this collector's item for 3,990 yen!

In addition, Sadie will be releasing their sixth maxi single on July 23rd!  'Grieving the dead soul' will be released in two types.  One type will include single with three tracks and PV DVD for 2,310 yen and the other type will be the single with four tracks for 1,890 yen.

Add these to your summer releases list! 

Wait...Kaya already released an album called 'GLITTER'...but this is different! Kaya is going to release an indies best album and decided to name it 'GLITTER' like his album! Yeah, it's kind of confusing.

It's going to release on July 16th (same day as Sugar's single!) and will be released in two editions! The regular edition will have 11 songs that include remixed and rearranged tracks from all his previous solo releases and a remixed version of 'Kasha' called 'Kasha - shining flowers -' and a new never released song 'Epicurean'! The limited edition will include the additional track 'funerary dream' which was from the 'another cell' album that Kaya produced with previous Schwarz Stein member Hora! Not to mention the cover will feature the rare boy style Kaya! But we all love the cute girl style Kaya too, which he will grace the cover of the regular edition of the album with. This album is certainly on my wish list!  You can get the regular edition for 3,000 yen and he limited edition for 3,200 yen!

And it looks like Kaya's releasing a DVD called 'Salon de Chocolat' too!  It'll include a recording of Kaya's major debut one man live 'Salon de Chocolat' and the music clip of 'Chocolat'!  Looks like it might be the full version!  This is definitely on my wish list too!  Details for the DVD will be included in the 'GLITTER' album!

For those who haven't heard already, L'Arc-en-Ciel are going to release their new single 'NEXUS 4 / SHINE' on August 27th! Same as MUCC's single and 176BIZ's album! It's interesting how releases tend to all come out on the same day...

Anyway, it will sell for 1,020 yen and will be a double A side single. And something interesting is that 'NEXUS 4' is the song they use for the SUBARU Legacy commercial! That's, of course, in Japan. But wouldn't it be cool if it was worldwide? Then everyone could hear how awesome L'Arc-en-Ciel is! In addition, 'SHINE' is the opening theme for the NHK broadcast anime 'Seirei no Moribito'! Are any of you watching that series?

176BIZ has announced a new album!  It's currently untitled and is going to be released on August 27th!  Same as MUCC's single!  And you can get the regular edition for 3,150 yen and the first press limited edition for 3,675 yen.  The regular edition will include 10 songs and 2 bonus tracks while the first press limited edition will include the same 10 songs and a DVD with a PV and its off shot footage!

Save up if you want to get both this and MUCC's single!

Sugar has a new maxi single coming out this Wednesday!  For 1,575 yen you can get their first unplugged maxi single which will include the tracks 'antlion,' 'Jakou Tadayou Naka de,' and 'Danshou to Kuroneko (antlion version).'  They actually started selling this single at their lives on June 5th at their HOLIDAY SHINJUKU live!

And they have another single coming out a month later!  'ruddy afterglow' is due to drop July 16th and will have a first press limited edition and regular edition.  The track listing for both will have 'afterglow' and 'Kanashimi ni Nemuru Hidamari.'  The regular edition will include a live recording of the song 'Ridicule' for 1,260 yen and the first press limited edition will include the third track 'voiceless' and its PV 1,890 yen.  Plus they have different covers! 

They plan to start selling this single early at their live at Takadanobaba AREA on July 12th, so if you're in Tokyo at that time, make sure to pick it up!

12012 has just announced a new maxi single to release August 20th!  It's called 'Taiyou' and will be sold in three types.  First press Type A includes the tracks 'Taiyou' and 'KAREIDOSCOPE' (yeah...) and a DVD with the 'Taiyou' PV for 1,500 yen.  First press Type B includes the three tracks 'Taiyou,' 'KAREIDOSCOPE,' and 'Hello,seventeen' for 1,200 yen.  And the regular edition includes the same first two tracks and a third track of 'butterfly LIVE at AKASAKA BLITZ LIVE VERSION).'

 Hope you guys have enough money saved for all three versions!

For those of you who haven't heard, HYDE has a new project!  It's called VAMPS and features the vocal and guitar talents of Mr. 'Kei' himself and his support guitarist, otherwise known as guitarist of OBLIVION DUST, K.A.Z. 

 Their first single "LOVE ADDICT" is due to drop on July 2nd!  You can get the the regular edition for 1,000 yen or you can get the first press limited edition which includes a DVD of the "LOVE ADDICT" PV and the making of the PV video, all in a nifty digipack CD case for 1,500 yen!

Dir en grey has announced the release date of a new single!  'GLASS SKIN' is set to release September 10th!

The release date is also the first day of their THE ROSE TRIMS AGAIN tour!  The tour spans from September 10th to October 12th all over Japan! 

D is coming out with their second major single!  There's no title yet but the release date will be August 13th!  It'll be released in the typical ABC types style.  Type A is first press limited edition and includes a DVD for 1,890 yen, Type B is the first press limited edition without the DVD for 1,050 yen, and Type C is the regular edition for the same price.

All releases will come with an included postcard!  And it looks like different stores will have different special privileges for pre-orders, so hunt down the one you want!

HEAD PHONES PRESIDENT will be releasing a new live DVD this October!  The title and other details have yet to be decided, but it will be a 2 DVD set including a recording of their upcoming live on July 13th at Club Citta in Kawasaki!  This will be their second live DVD to date, so make sure to pick it up! 

And a cool tidbit of info, just the other day on the 9th, HPP was the opening act for a show presented by MUCC!  How awesome is that!  And good news for you folks 'down under!'  HPP will be touring in Australia at the end of this month!  Don't miss them!

A new single from TMR is coming our way this Wednesday on the 11th! Apparently after almost 3 years! It's called "resonance" and the title track is the theme to the anime "Soul Eater." Do any of you watch that? I've never heard of it...

Anyhow, for almost $10 you can get the regular edition and for about $14 you can get the limited edition which includes a DVD of the PV for "resonance," a special sticker, and special CD jacket. And check this out! For less than $20 you can get the limited edition with Blu-ray!! Wow! Looks like Blu-ray is starting to take over!

Get ready for another release, cause Kra is coming out with a LIVE DVD, titled, "Yaon Biraki Dayo Zenin Shugo!!", filmed from their oneman concert on 2008.4.5 at Hibiya Yaon. It will be released on July 23rd, and is 6,090 yen, which is roughly under $60.  Be sure to get a copy before it's all sold out!!

Got some releases coming our way!

Danger Gang will be releasing a full album on July 21st called "St.Beast"!  Price is 2,940 yen, so about $30.

JRR artist Merry will be releasing a huge DVD set called "Many Merry Days FINAL Yokohama Bunkataiikukan!"  The regular edition will have the live DVD and a photobook!  And the first press limited edition will have the live DVD, a tour documentary DVD, a special DVD jacket, and a laminated staff pass!  How awesome is that!  The first press is a bit pricey though...  But for Merry fans it's a must have!  8,190 yen for the first press is nothing right?  Haha...  The regular edition is 5,040 yen and the DVD drops on July 23rd!

Super cosplay band Uchuu Sentai NOIZ is releasing the second single in their two consecutive single releases on August 6th!  It's called "Sentimental Drop Kick" and you can get the regular edition for 1,050 yen or you can get the first press limited edition for 1,500 yen which includes a DVD of the "Sentimental Drop Kick" PV!

 And finally D is releasing a DVD of their last indies performance!  It's called "LIVE TOUR 2008 'Follow me' FINAL" and it drops on July 30th for 4,500 yen!  First press includes a poster!

First Release Buzz! Kagrra, will be releasing a single on September 10th. (That's one day before guitarist, SIN's birthday!).

There's still some information that has not been given out yet, but we do know that this single will contain the theme song to an upcoming horror drama. Feel free to keep checking back for more updates!

Krystal: We at JRR thought it would be handy to add a section where we would give you accurate and up-to-date information about upcoming releases in Japan as well as overseas.

Reiko: We thought that it would be a lot more interesting if we brought it to you blog style!

Krystal: The primary authors for this blog will be Reiko and I so...yoroshiku onegaishimasu! We will try our best to bring you news as soon as it's released!

Reiko: In addition to upcoming releases, we'll sneak in some info about lives that your favorite bands/artists are having in Japan as well as general industry news!

Krystal: We know it's impossible to cover every single band out there, so we'll do our best to mention the bands/artists we know you guys want to hear about.
